We’ve seen BYW members working hard and thriving in their practice during our 30 Day Challenge. This week, we want to highlight Ronice Kimbrel who’s practicing with BYW Boston.   She’s even gotten her daughter into yoga!  😄. Let jump right in…

How long have you been practicing Bikram Yoga and what made you join Bikram Yoga Works?

I’ve been practicing for over a year. I decided to try Bikram Yoga Works because I was in a car accident in 2014. I did physical therapy, but needed something more to help with alignment.

What has your experience been with BYW?
The studio is great and the virtual studio experience is even better!

I’m a member of the Boston location and I love the community feel and that everyone is always there to support and motivate you.

You mentioned you love the virtual studio even more. Why is that? What has your experience been?
There is a lot of variety at BYW; however, at the Boston location, we don’t always have access to every class, such as FLEX’T’ with Kendra, and yin yoga.

I’m now able to take all classes offered at every studio.

How has it been working out with your daughter?
It’s been fun working out with my daughter! We motivate and encourage each other. She’s 14 and has been very engaged in the classes.

That just shows you how great the classes are because a teen wants to do it!

What’s the most challenging part of working out from home?

The size of the space has been the most challenging part. With two of us working out, we don’t have as much space to stretch out as we do in the actual studio. I also really miss the heated experience.

What’s your favorite pose?
The camel pose! It has become my favorite because there’s a freedom I feel when stretching backwards.  🐫
Camel Pose Benefits:  Opens up the hips, stretching deep hip flexors, Improves flexibility, especially in the spine, Complements overall health and well-being
What’s the most challenging pose?

The eagle pose is the most challenging for me. I have a difficult time wrapping my arms appropriately.
