What is your inspiration for teaching?

There are 2 things that really inspire my joy for teaching. One is my own physical, mental and emotional health.  One of the main reasons I became a Bikram teacher is because I enjoyed the way the practice made me feel and I envisioned myself being in the hot room everyday to stay healthy. I felt that becoming an instructor would facilitate an ongoing lifelong practice.

My second inspiration is my love for people and the energy people bring. I love meeting and getting to know new people!
To be able to not only meet people, but give them a practice that is so healing is the reason I am inspired to teach.

What is one important lesson quarantine has taught you?

One important lesson quarantine has taught me is that in the midst of chaos and standing still you become stronger.  It’s taught me how to adapt in a crisis and to always find the silver lining in chaotic situations.

What is your advice for those practicing at home?

Find the perfect place in your home and stay there so you become comfortable in knowing that the spot you chose is where you will work out. Also stay consistent.  There are a lot of distractions at home and with consistency will come stillness and comfort so you can maintain the same benefits that you get from the studio at home.

Tell us about Dirty 30?

Dirty 30 stemmed from my Hot Pilates training and I basically thought of a way to take some Hot Pilates moves and condense it into a 30 to 40 minute workout.  30 to me is the burnout number in workouts.  It takes you past comfortable and gives you that extra push to get the extra burn in your workout moves.  I allowed practitioners to add a workout to the Dirty 30 making it a community workout where everyone gives their input and everyone get’s to target what they want to work on for themselves.
