How long have you been practicing Bikram Yoga?

I’ve been practicing for four years.

Which Bikram Yoga Works studio do you use? What made you join?

Ivy city is my go-to location! A friend suggested that I would like it. I was cycling at first, then it took me about five years to get into the studio.  My first experience was tough. I called my friend and asked how he could practice Bikram Yoga everyday because it was so challenging!

What has your experience been with BYW?

I love it.

The community aspect is amazing!

I’m there six days a week (or I was when I was going into the studio). The only reason I wasn’t there on Saturdays is because of my work schedule.

You mentioned you love the virtual studio even more. Why is that? What has your experience been? 

The virtual classes have been great. I’ve only missed two days. I love the convenience of still getting an intense workout at home.

What’s the most challenging part of working out from home?

Staying focused is hard. At home there are tons of distractions unlike being inside of an isolated studio.

What’s your favorite pose?

The Standing Head to Knee Pose.

What’s the most challenging pose?

The Toe Stand. I haven’t mastered it just yet.

Since I’ve been practicing, it’s been a great experience. I’ve noticed a difference in my eating and sleeping habits. Outside of the studio, I’ve been more focused. It saved my life because I’m way more focused. Certain things that I couldn’t do with shoulders before, I can do them now.

I love BYW for the community. I love how everyone knows each other by their first name. It’s nice to know who you’re practicing with. Great communication with Kendra is valued as well.
