How long have you been practicing Bikram and what got you into the practice?

I’ve been practicing Bikram yoga sporadically for some time now.  I started practicing more regularly in November 2018 after sustaining lingering injuries from marathon running.



What have you received from the practice?

Physically, mentally, and spiritually I’ve been feeling progressively better!  Throughout my adulthood I’ve been fortunate to be able to maintain an active lifestyle usually with outdoor activities such as running, cycling, and organized sports.  When I haven’t exercised, specifically during winters, I’ve gained weight and experienced seasonal depression.

This past winter was my best yet, full of energy and positivity, which I attribute to my practice of yoga and inferno hot Pilates.

Your favorite posture and why?

I would have to say my favorite pose is Dandayamana Dhanurasana, I feel the best right after it and ready to take on the rest of the class and the day!

…and my favorites days are when I get to practice first thing in the morning.
